Every week, I will nominate one student to be Star Student. In order to earn the title of Star Student, students need to follow the classroom and school rules in addition to going above and beyond. Students could also earn the title of Star Student by showing an effort to improve behavior and academics. This week, our Star Student is Justin. Justin comes in smiling every morning. He follows directions and completes his work on time and with effort. He truly is a leader and a star student. Congratulations Justin, Room 2 is incredibly proud of you! Keep up the great work!
If you have not returned the paperwork in the white envelope that was sent home during Meet the Teacher or the first day of school, please do so this week. The office needs the information to update student files. Feel free to send it in with your student or bring it in tonight at Open House. Open House begins at 6pm. I will share information about classroom procedures, units of study, common core, SBAC, field trips and more. If you are unable to make it and have questions please feel free to contact me.
We are going to continue learning about place value, rounding and addition with and without regrouping over the next few weeks in math. We will also continue learning about Native Americans in Social Studies. We are also going to continue reviewing why readers read, thinking stems and story elements in literacy. We will start book groups next week.
Thank you and I look forward to an amazing year!
