I really enjoyed meeting with everyone last week. I hope all of you were happy with the progress that your children are making. This group is very hard working and continues to surprise me with their intelligence and enthusiasm for school. I was particularly pleased to hear that many students were going home and talking about the research they were doing on bears. We are in the process of researching ecosystems so be prepared to hear all about your child’s ecosystem! We are looking for characteristics of the ecosystem, the types of animals living in the ecosystem, an example of a food web and the adaptations the animals need to survive in that ecosystem.
This Friday is Movie Frenzy. The movie that is playing is Frozen. Please be sure to send in the permission slip and the $3 to attend. I am anticipating a lot of students wanting to see this movie.
This Friday is also our field trip. Please be sure to wear comfortable sneakers and dress in layers! Our weather keeps changing so we want to be sure we are comfortable for all aspects of the trip. The first portion is a bus tour through town. The second half is when parents are welcome to join us. We will arrive at approximately noon at Wadsworth Manson for lunch and for a hike. If you are signed up for Remind 101, I will send out a text when we are approximately 30 minutes away from the second portion of the trip. To sign up, text @misspantal to (860)484-0028. I will be able to text you but you will not be able to respond as that is not my actual cell phone number.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Robert on being this week’s Star Student! Robert has been working extremely hard and has been volunteering more during our lessons. Congratulations Robert! Room 2 is very proud of you! Keep up the excellent work!
Over April break my fire department will be having a flower sale for Easter. Since it is a fire department event, I would like to invite my class down to visit me. I mentioned in my previous letter that I would be there on Thursday from 5-8, however, I passed my Fire 2 practical this weekend so I am more than likely taking my written exam that night. I will be at my fire department on Thursday from 5-6. I have to leave promptly at 6 to get to the testing site in time. I will be at my fire department on Friday and Saturday from 12-8. If you can make it, I will put your child (and you!) in gear, let them spray a booster hose, give them a tour of our fire department and trucks. I am located at: 2 Kondracki Ln Wallingford. It is right next to Lyman Hall.
Warmly,
Miss Pantalena
As a reminder, this Thursday is a two-hour delay for the students.
