Please continue to send in wrapped crazy pens for our pen exchange this Tuesday. Also, please send in your student’s items for the gingerbread making activity. Students need a base covered in tin foil (cutting boards work very well!), a can of frosting (not whipped), a box of graham crackers and candy to share with tablemates. Parents are welcome to join us for the gingerbread making portion of the day. We will begin building around 9:30/9:45. Unfortunately due to our specials schedule with the shortened day, the kids will only have about an hour to build. After they get back from their special, we will do the pen swap and I have a small surprise for them. Students will either need to buy or bring lunch from home. During lunch, we will watch a movie and enjoy popcorn and hot chocolate.
I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and safe holiday and vacation. Students are asked to read and to practice their math facts over winter break. I am not requiring any written work as long as they read for 20 minutes a night and practice math facts for 10 minutes a night. Please visit our classroom webpage for ideas on how to practice math facts. I have some online games and quizzes under the Helpful Links section.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Hayden on being this week’s Star Student! Hayden has been working incredibly hard and has really been putting in extra effort into his studies. Not only is he working harder, he is really excelling in math. Congratulations Hayden, Room 2 is proud of you!
Warmly,
Miss Pantalena
