Happy Durham Fair week! It seems crazy to think that September is almost over. This year is flying by already. The boys and girls continue to adjust well to the different demands and the rigor of third grade. We are still working on curbing our chatty tendencies and we are still working on following directions the first time they are asked. Keep working hard boys and girls! You really are doing very well.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Hannah for being this week’s Star Student. Hannah has been working incredibly hard. She is participating more often in class and works very hard on all assignments. Keep up the wonderful work Hannah, Room 2 is very proud of you!
We are going to start our first research project this week. We will use a program called eMaze to create the final product. Feel free to check out the program https://www.emaze.com/ The first steps will be done this week. We will create an eMaze about ourselves to get used to the program and we will begin reading Who were the first North Americans? to gather more information.
We are about four compliment marbles away from earning our next Teamwork Jar Reward. The reward we are working towards is Coding with Mrs. Petroski! I am confident we will earn the reward. If and when we earn the reward, we will spend part of our Wednesday afternoon Coding.
Thank you to all of the parents that came to see me last Tuesday for Open House. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you to the six parents that signed up to be Room Parents! Mrs. Davis (Marco’s mom), Mrs. Cella (Ruby’s mom), Mrs. DeVivo (Cristiana’s mom), Mr. DiNatale (Isabella’s dad), Mrs. Vasquez (Milana’s mom) and Mrs. Prifitera (Nico’s mom) all volunteered. Thank you so very much. I will send a separate notice to the parents the volunteered with ways to contact each other.
Please fill out the paperwork from Open House when you can. I understand that the beginning of the year is full of paperwork but the papers I sent home really help me get a better insight on your child. Thank you.
Many students are forgetting to turn in or do their homework. Please check that your student has completed the assignments. Starting in October, slips will be going home about missed homework. As mentioned at Open House if a situation occurs and the night’s homework can not be completed, please send me an email.
Thank you for your help and understanding,
Miss Pantalena
