Last week was a rough week with behaviors in Room 2. I’d like to attribute it to the excitement of Halloween. Now that Halloween is over, we will be reviewing Room 2 expectations. Upon arriving to school, students are to turn in their homework with name and date and then proceed to their seats. Once at their seats, they are to retrieve their book box and begin their morning work. Upon completion, the morning work is either turned in or kept at their seats, I announce if we will be correcting it together or if I will correct it. While other students finish, students are expected to read or write silently so their classmates could concentrate. During lessons, students are to follow along and participate by raising their hands. During dismissal, students are expected to quickly and quietly pack up and organize their desks then remain on their bottoms until their bus is called or they are called for a pickup. Students are also expected to keep their hands and belongings to themselves. My class is extremely kind and supportive. In fact, this is the only class that I’ve had that claps for their classmates if they receive an award or recognition. I do understand that the will to help someone else is strong in my room; however, the best way to do so is to set an example by following the expectations not by neglecting their own responsibilities.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Hailey for being this week’s Star Student. Hailey has been working very hard the last few weeks in class. She is completing work with more accuracy and efficiency. She is also participating a lot more in class. Her confidence boost earned her the title of Star Student. Keep working hard and keep coming to school smiling Miss Hailey; you are doing a wonderful job! Congratulations, Room 2 is proud of you!
If you haven’t returned your conference slip, please do so soon. If the time or date does not work for you, please let me know. I will work with you to find a better time or date.
Our weekly academics this week will wrap up portions of the units we have been working on. We will review and wrap up multiplication and move onto division next week in math. We will also wrap up using our senses to write and move to more elaborative “knock your socks off” sentences in writing. We will continue focusing on non-fiction text features but move to recounting the main idea of the article in literacy.
Warmly,
Miss Pantalena
