We also had an exciting day on Friday during our Fire Safety day. I could not have wished for a better experience for Korn School. Every single student went through the Smoke Trailer and heard about Durham’s new rescue. The third graders also heard fire safety talks done by my Lieutenant and myself. Thank you to Durham and Middlefield fire for making this day better than I could have imagined! Please visit the fire safety portion of my classroom website to see photos from Friday.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Natalie for being this week’s Star Student! Natalie is an incredibly kind and sweet young lady with a wonderful personality. She always uses her manners and is always willing to help a fellow classmate or myself with anyone. Keep up the great work Natalie, Room 2 is incredibly proud to have such a thoughtful young lady as a part of our third grade family.
The boys and girls will be running the mile run on Friday so please send your child to school wearing comfortable clothes, sneakers and with a water bottle.
We will continue learning about multiplication in math this week. So far the students seem to be really excelling with the strategies we have been learning. We have spent a decent amount of time learning about arrays, repeated addition and circles and starts. We will begin learning about skip counting and using number lines to solve multiplication problems this week. We also begin memorizing our times 0, 1, 2, 5 and 10s facts.
Our Room Moms will be contacting you soon about a small Halloween celebration after our parade on the 31st. I want to have a small celebration with healthier options such as pretzels, fruit, and vegetables instead of the typical sweets. I would also like to play a short Halloween themed game such as bingo.
Thank you,
Miss Pantalena
