The boys and girls did an AMAZING job on their Olympic Project!! I was beyond impressed with the quality of their posters and the information they learned. I really hope everyone enjoyed doing this project. I was also pleased to see so many parents were able to come in and enjoy the presentations with us! One small critique I have is that almost everyone spoke to the poster, rather than facing the class. That is something we will work in on class. We talked about identifying where your audience is when presenting. Later in the year, we will have parents in again for a poetry celebration. The boys and girls will be required to memorize a poem to recite to the class. Hopefully the boys and girls will have an easier time finding their audience with that assignment. Overall though, I was extremely impressed and happy to see that everyone enjoyed this project.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Monica on being our Star Student again! Monica is always doing exactly what she is supposed to be doing. Beyond her dedication to school, I was impressed with her ability to type this week! She published multiple stories she had written over the year. She learned to type quickly and effectively. I was especially pleased to see that Monica was trying to use her home row keys while typing! Congratulations Monica on not only being an awesome student but a great typist!
Please contact me if you find a conflict with your conference schedule. I tried to schedule parents around the date and time that they came in last term. If something comes up and the date and time need to be moved, please let me know and we will work together to come up with a new time. I am looking forward to sharing all of the wonderful work your son or daughter has been doing since we last met.
Please try to come in on March 21 for Folder Share. Folder Share will start around 7:30 and will end when the school day begins.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping the boys and girls raise money for Pennies for Patients! My unofficial total for the class is approximately $229! I cannot wait to find out if we won the pizza party! I am exceptionally proud of my students. I explained to them that although we raised a lot of money, we still do not know how much the other classes have raised and a few students reminded me “The point wasn’t to win, it was to help others.” I cannot express how proud that made me! This truly is a wonderful class! I told my kids that even if we don’t win the pizza party, I am proud of them and I will plan something special to thank them for being so generous.
Thank you,
Miss Pantalena
