Thank you to all of the wonderful parents that joined us on Tuesday’s field trip. The boys and girls enjoyed themselves and learned a lot. The trip wouldn’t have been nearly as successful without your help.
The boys and girls are doing well with learning how to tell time. Some of us are confusing the minute and the hour hand. Please continue to work at home with your student on telling time to the minute.
Thank you for all of your hard work at home with math facts. The boys and girls took a multiplication and a division mad minute last week. Everyone increased their score compared to the baseline data score! Keep up the hard work!
We are going to continue working on telling time this week. We will begin working on elapsed time (earlier and later) to the one minute interval. From there, we will move to interpreting graphs (bar graph, pictographs, line graphs and line plots).
Congratulations to Emma for being this week’s Star Student! Emma has been working extremely hard in all of her lessons. She is a role model because she is very respectful and is always doing exactly what is expected of her. Congratulations Emma, Room 2 is extremely proud of you! Keep up the great work!
For those of you that signed up to receive text message alerts from me, you already know that February is the month we celebrate Read Across America day. This year, I’d like to conduct our celebration a little differently. I’d like to try to schedule daily guest readers. Please email me if you are interested in reading a book aloud to the class. I will provide storybooks or you can read a chapter or two from our class read aloud. Parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents are all welcome!
Thank you,
Miss Pantalena
P.S. Thank you again to the boys and girls that contributed to my group gift. I was able to purchase a gear bag, glove strap and extrication gloves. Thank you! I am very excited to be able to use my new gear. =)
