Last week I sent home information about the website through Amazon called Ten Marks. Your child has been working on this website in school. It is a prefect opportunity to review skills that we already covered in class. It is also a good opportunity to practice math online because we will be taking the SBAC assessment coming up. If you need another copy of your child’s login information, please let me know.
Spirit day is this Tuesday. Dress in green! Wear whatever you have that is green!
Our next field trip is on Thursday to the Peabody Museum. If you signed up to be a chaperone, please be at school by 9:00 so we could leave for 9:15. I heard from a parent that the chaperone-parking fee was upped to $5 from the original $3 that I mentioned. We will be there all day so please send your child to school with a snack, lunch and drink in a bag with your child’s name on it.
Please note when you look at your child’s report card that the grades reflect where we currently are within the school year. We are just starting to touch upon three of the math concepts that I had to grade the class on. I am confident that if report cards had to be done later in the month that the grades for “measures mass and liquids,” “graphing,” and “draws and explains geometric shapes” would be higher. I had to grade the class as of their knowledge right now.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Justin for being this week’s Star Student! Justin continues to grow into an impressive student and person. He is hard working, thoughtful and kind. He works hard and is egger to share his knowledge in a respectful way with his classmates. Congratulations, Justin. Room 2 is incredibly proud of you!
Last week I sent home a notice about my fire department’s Easter Flower Sale at 2 Kondracki Ln in Wallingford. Please consider coming to visit me. Under no circumstances do you have to buy flowers if you come visit me. I use this fundraiser as an opportunity to invite my class to a fire department sanctioned event. If you come visit, I will show you around and put your child in some gear. I am not sure what my hours will be just yet, but I will be there on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4. I will let you know what my hours are as we get closer. I need to coordinate time with the department, time home with Stryker and time with my niece and nephew that will be visiting for the weekend!
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Pantalena
