I’d like to thank Room 2 students, friends and family again for rallying together and raising the most money for Pennies for Patients! The boys and girls set two goals and each time, we exceeded our goal. Thank you for helping the class exceed our goal, raise money for a wonderful cause and to earn a pizza party! Way to go!
I am looking forward to meeting with everyone next week for conferences. The boys and girls have been working extremely hard and are doing very well. Everyone has shown wonderful growth and everyone is exceeding my expectations daily. This group is like a sponge! They keep absorbing what I have to teach them. They truly are a remarkable group. Thank you for all you do for these children. They are very lucky to have such a wonderful support group.
When you receive your student’s report cards, please remember that a score of a 3 is the goal for the end of the year. Although many students demonstrate the ability to meet all of the standards, they may not be performing independently. Due to the new Common Core Standards and the rigor of the standards, a lot of students still need support to consistently demonstrate the skills. The score of a 2 is exactly where the students need to be at this point in the year. I will be including a note about the new report cards, rubrics, standards and all of the changes that are occurring this year in with your student’s progress reports.
I sent home permission slips for our next field trip. We are going to start studying local history. As a part of our unit, we take a bus tour of Middlefield. Mr. Hubbard is a wealth of knowledge and he will be joining us on the morning portion to share all of the interesting history our town has to offer. Parents are welcome to join us for the afternoon portion. If you signed up for the Remind 101 feature, I can text you to let you know when we are 30 minutes or so away from the Wadsworth Mansion. Please join us for a picnic style lunch and a nature hike. Please layer your student that morning because we never know what the weather will be like. Sneakers are important to wear too since we will be hiking in the woods. A portion of the trail is kind of steep so sneakers would help a great deal.
March 20 is our next spirit day. Student senate picked Mix Match Day so dress in your favorite mix matched clothes! Wear polka dots with stripes and plaid or wear a shirt backwards. Have some fun being all mix matched!
Room 2 would like to congratulate Marina for being this week’s Star Student! Marina is a very hard working, thoughtful and confident student. She takes on new lessons with excitement and inquisitive mind. Congratulations Marina, Room 2 is very proud of you!
Thank you,
Miss Pantalena
P.S. I will be at my fire department on April 18-20 for our Easter Flower Sale. I am not sure what time I will be there but please stay tuned for more information. All students are encouraged to come visit me! I will be able to show you around, show you the engines, put you in some gear and maybe even spray a hose!
