I hope everyone had a spectacular day with their families yesterday. Stryker and I spent the day together going for walks and planting my vegetable and herb gardens. He tried very hard to help me plant my seedlings by taking them out of my tray and throwing them around the yard! Needless to say, he was not much help and I am down a few plants now. Silly boy!
All of us survived SBAC testing. I was very impressed with how hard everyone worked and how positive everyone’s attitude towards testing was. This class is incredibly smart and hard working. Congratulations everyone!
Congratulations to Kevin for being this week’s Star Student! Kevin is Star Student for a variety of reasons. He came in everyday over the last two weeks ready to test. He worked as hard as he possibly could on his exams. Congratulations Kevin, Room 2 is proud of you for being so mature and hardworking!
We are back to a normal schedule with normal lessons this week. We will continue learning about fractions in math and we will get back to our traditional guided reading this week. We will also continue with our explorer research writing.
We won April’s Box Top contest. The reward is a pajama day. Pajama day for Room 2 will be this Friday. Please be sure to bring in sneakers and wear something comfortable because we have PE on Friday.
May 12 is Patriotic Day so please where your red, white and blue on Tuesday (tomorrow).
I sent home our permission slip for the Middlefield trip on Friday. Please sign and return the slip when you can. Our trip is on May 28. All parents are welcome to join us for the second part of the trip at the mansion for lunch and a hike. We will need to keep an eye on the weather as we get closer so we know how to dress and how much water to bring. Chances are it will be hot and muggy! It seems like Mother Nature forgot about spring and went right into summer (not that I really mind after the winter we had!)
Please send your child to school with a water bottle. They get very hot and thirsty at recess, especially if they do Go Far. Staying hydrated is very important. Our room gets very chilly when the air conditioner is turned on so I would suggest bringing a lightweight sweatshirt to school too.
Thanks for the continuous support this year. I cannot believe we are in the homestretch! This year flew by and I am going to be very sad to pass this crew along. It’s been a great year! I wish we looped with our kids like they used to do years ago. I’d love to keep this crew for another year! =)
Warmly,
Miss P.
