We are also practicing our metacognition skills in literacy. Students are not only identifying the story elements and non-fiction text features, but they are being challenged to think about their thinking while reading. Students are challenged to make “I am picture, I am wondering, I am curious about, I have a question about, I am connecting with, I don’t understand, Now I understand” etc. Students are also learning how to use non-fiction text features to gather more information.
Room 2 would like to congratulate Taylor for being this week’s Star Student! Taylor has made a wonderful transition to third grade. She is dependable, respectful and hard working. Taylor’s excitement towards math makes teaching math fun! She is always one of the first to put her hand in the air to volunteer an answer or to ask a question. Congratulations Taylor, Room 2 is extremely proud of you!
Please sign and return the Bushy Hill permission slip when you can. Please consider trying to come with us! It is an awesome field trip that allows the students to live like a Native American for the day. Also please sign and return the Smoke Trailer permission slip. I am excited for the school to have this opportunity to learn how to react incase of a fire.
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Pantalena
