We have a busy week ahead of us in Room 2! This Wednesday, we are going on a nature walk near Allyn Brook to start our weathering and erosion science unit. Mrs. Martin will be taking us to learn how to spot evidence of erosion and to learn about the impact weather has on the earth. Please be sure to wear sneakers on Wednesday. Sneakers will also need to be worn on Thursday. The boys and girls will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart in PE in the morning. In afternoon, we will walk down to Allyn Brook and release the trout we have been raising in the library as a part of the Trout in the Classroom program.
The boys and girls decided to nominate my brand new puppy named Stryker to be this week’s Star Student. Stryker is an 8 week old German Shepherd. He learned how to go up and down stairs this weekend. He also learned the command of “come.” When he isn’t busy learning, he is very playful and very cuddly. Congratulations, Stryker, Room 2 is proud of you!
This Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we will be taking the SBAC test. We spent a lot of time practicing for these tests over the last month and a half. The boys and girls are as prepared as they can be to take the computer based test. As noted in the letter that went home in the green envelopes, it is important to try to present and on time on testing days. Although this year is a test phase for the SBAC, we want the students to take the test seriously as if scores would be reported back to their parents and the schools.
Please continue to send in the spring pictures or the money for the spring pictures. We are almost at 100% of the students bringing something back in. If we get 100% back, the class gets a special poster from Life Touch. If the whole school brings back 100% of the photos or money, the school will get a bicycle to raffle off! Thank you for your cooperation.
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Pantalena and Stryker
