I am so glad that I was able to sit down with everyone last week to share about the successes of Room 5 students! The students of Room 5 really have matured a lot and risen to the challenge of being a third grader. Keep up the wonderful work boys and girls! I am so very proud of all of your grown and progress, both academically, and socially.
Room 5 would like to congratulate Spencer for being this week’s Star Student! Spencer has been working extra hard in class. He is working on making great learning choices and he is participating in class discussions more often. Well done Spencer! Room 5 could not be prouder!
Last Friday, the third grade students enjoyed an assembly about making good choices. All of the students were engaged and entertained by the stories and songs that were shared. Students heard helpful tips about how to be courageous, even if it is hard! They also learned how to pay attention to their actions so they can decide if they are making a good choice or if they need to change their actions.
The Pumpkin Drop is back on! Thank you to the wonderful parents who brought in pumpkins for us! Please continue sending in supplies to package the pumpkins. The drop is scheduled for this Thursday with a rain date of this Friday! Your son or daughter should have come home last week with a list of supplies their group needs to gather in order to create their protective packaging.
We are going to begin talking about fact versus opinion this week in literacy. Students will learn that facts are true for everyone and opinions are true for one person. For example, it is a fact that a German Shepherd is a type of dog. It is my opinion that they are the best dogs ever!
We are going to continue talking about division this week. Last week we talked about how it is related to subtraction. This week, we are going to begin learning more strategies to help us some division equations.
Warmly,
Miss Pantalena
