Report cards came home today. When you are looking at your student’s report card, please remember that a grade of a 3 means that the student has mastered the skill and could consistently and independently performs the skill. In contrast, a grade of a 2 means that the student still needs some support and guidance to perform the skill. Lastly, a grade of a 1 means that the student is significantly below grade level and/or needs a lot of support in order to perform the skill. I am looking forward to sharing examples of student work and growth with you in a few weeks at conferences. If a conference time or date needs to be changed, please contact me. I still have a decent amount of openings and am very willing to work with you to find a better day.
The boys and girls did an amazing job on their long-term turkey-writing project! I am beyond impressed with the amount of work that the class put into their disguises and their writing. Awesome job boys and girls! Keep up the wonderful work!
Since the weather is getting colder, more germs are starting to circulate around the school. If your student gets thirsty throughout the day, please send in a water bottle so your student will not have to drink from the water fountain. Students are also encouraged to wash their hands before snack and lunch. Your son or daughter could also use the classroom’s hand sanitizer or bring his or her own.
This week we will continue focusing on division and two step word problems in math. Two step word problems require students to comprehend and visualize what the problem is about in order to successfully solve the problem.
Please visit our classroom webpage. I updated a portion of it to make it more user friendly. I focused my attention on the “helpful links” section to provide a better array of websites to support student learning. I will be updating the “student work” and the “photo blog” pages within the next week.
Warmly,
Miss Pantalena
