It was a pleasure meeting with everyone last week! I really enjoyed being able to share all of the accomplishments that your students have made throughout the first portion of the year. I am looking forward to working with your student to help him or her reach the goals that were set. I’ve said it before, but this class really is a fantastic group! Everyone is very welcoming, accepting, encouraging and kind towards each other. Keep up the great work kids! I am extremely proud of how far everyone has come!
Congratulations to Marina for being this week’s Star Student! Marina is very hard working and determined to do well in third grade. She is always listening and participating in class lessons. Marina not only listens, but she applies what we are learning to her everyday work. Congratulations Marina, Room 2 is very proud of you!
This Thursday is the Winter Concert. Boys and girls are asked to wear a white or light colored shirt and dark pants. The concert starts at 6:30 at CRHS. I believe kids are asked to start arriving at 6:00 so they can get ready. The boys and girls have been working very hard and the concert is sure to be an amazing one!
Please be on the lookout for three important notices that will be coming home. The first one went home on Friday. It was the permission slip for our next field trip which will be on December 17 to the Children’s Science Museum. This goes along with our States of Matter science unit. A notice about making gingerbread houses will also be going home. Students are asked to bring in a base to build the gingerbread house on, a box of graham crackers, a can of frosting (not whipped) and candy to share with their tablemates. The date that the houses will be made is yet to be determined. Parents will be invited as soon as the date is finalized. The final notice will be about a Wacky Winter Pen Exchange. Every year I have asked kids to purchase a pen (under $5) and wrap it. I read T’was the Night Before Christmas aloud and every time I say the word “the” the students exchange the wrapped pens. At the end, the kids open their new wacky pen!
Lastly, thank you to the families that sent in items for the Holiday Toy Drive. Student senate is offering an incentive of a special sticker on December 18th to the children that donated. I am upping the incentive and am offering a homework pass to each student that donates. Please consider sending in a small, unwrapped, new toy. In past years, I have found cute stuffed animals, puzzles and small toys at Dollar Tree.
Thank you!
